When did you start your current job?
January 2023
What is your main role at your company?
I am responsible for managing the financial activities of Guardian Credit Union and I lead the accounting, finance and payment operations teams.
What is your number one career accomplishment or highlight?
Moving into the role of CFO at Guardian is my greatest career accomplishment so far. However, passing the CPA exam in 2012 is really a defining moment for me. It gave me confidence that I could achieve even more. It opened the door to working at a CPA firm in Birmingham and then ultimately led to me to Guardian.
How are you involved in your community?
My wife, Caitlin, and I both grew up in Millbrook, AL, and we’ve been back in the River Region with our two daughters, Jovie (9) and Arie (7) for almost 8 years. We are members of Crossroads Community Church in Elmore where Caitlin and I lead a life group and serve in a number of areas. We’ve served on committees and in the children’s ministry, including attending kids camp and helping with Bible Drill. Over the past two years, I have coached basketball in the Prattville YMCA league, and I assisted in coaching 6U and 8U softball in the Prattville City League.
What is your key to success?
A phrase that has become one of my life mottos is “do what you say you are going to do.” I really try to live by this idea. I think honesty and dependability mean a lot to people, whether it’s in the business world or in everyday relationships. Another key to success for me is having a strong support system at home. Caitlin and I view ourselves as a team, working together as one unit, encouraging and supporting each other. Ultimately, we recognize that our talents and successes are gifts from God, and we try to acknowledge Him in all that we do.
